Youth Climate Campaigners Fill The World’s Streets Demanding End To Wars
Young Fridays for Future climate campaigners took to the streets worldwide Thursday to stand with the people of Ukraine.
They called for a world that prioritizes peace and freedom from fossil fuels for all.
It criticized people for ignoring wars in South Sudan, Iraq, Nigeria, and the many other southern regions affected by “imperialist and fossil fuels wars during the last decades.”
The group stressed that while Ukrainians deserve peace and support, so do the people of Afghanistan, Libya, Syria, Yemen, and other war-torn regions.
Members of the youth-led movement carried signs reading #StandWithUkraine and #NoMoreWars.
Its members generally hold school strikes on Fridays, inspired by Swedish teenager and climate activist Greta Thunberg.
