World can’t ‘turn away from moral failure,’ says ICRC chief visiting Gaza hospital
KHAN YUNIS (AFP): The president of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has slammed the world leaders for their failure to stop killings in Gaza.
“We can’t turn away from what is evidently a moral failure in the face of the international community,” said Mirjana Spoljaric after visiting the European hospital in Khan Yunis, southern Gaza.
Spoljaric’s visit came as Israel pushed its military operation south on a fourth day of fighting since the end of a week-long suspension.
“What shocked me the most were the children with atrocious injuries,” said Spoljaric.
