White House rejects Netanyahu’s threat: Lebanon must not suffer Gaza’s fate
The White House has firmly opposed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s warning that Lebanon could face devastation similar to Gaza if Hezbollah is not ousted.
Spokesperson Karine Jean-Pierre emphasized, “We cannot and will not see Lebanon turned into another Gaza.”
She also attributed Lebanon’s distress to Hezbollah’s rocket attacks on Israel.
Since September 23, Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon have killed more than 1,323 people and injured nearly 3,700, escalating a conflict intensified by Israel’s recent ground invasion.
Hezbollah retaliated with nearly 200 rocket attacks, targeting cities including Haifa.
Despite significant losses, Hezbollah claims its military strength remains robust, asserting that it has adapted to the ongoing Israeli offensive.
The situation continues to deteriorate, raising fears of a broader regional conflict.
