Uyghurs In U.S. Protest In Front Of White House About 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics
Uyghurs in the U.S. protested in front of the White House Saturday against the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing.
They criticized the Chinese government and accused it of carrying out “genocide” in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region.
In 2019, Human Rights Watch confirmed that the Chinese government has committed, and continues to commit, crimes against humanity against its Turkic Muslim population.
Demonstrators at Saturday’s protest carried East Turkestan flags and chanted “Freedom to East Turkestan” and “Boycott China’s genocide Olympics.”
They also criticized the U.S. International Olympic Committee and U.S. media outlets for broadcasting the Games.
Protestors demanded the International Criminal Court investigate genocide and crimes against humanity committed against the Uyghur people.
