US Homeland Security Secretary Noem oversees irregular migrant operation in New York
Newly appointed Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem took part in a police operation targeting undocumented immigrants in New York City on Tuesday.
A post on the Department of Homeland Security’s X account highlighted Noem’s involvement in a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement or ICE operation.
In the photos shared, Noem was seen wearing an ICE police vest.
On her own X account, she posted a video of herself wearing the agency’s garb, and wrote, “7 AM in NYC. Getting the dirt bags off the streets.”
In another post, Noem said that one of the detainees was an undocumented immigrant charged with kidnapping, assault, and theft.
Meanwhile, New York Democratic Mayor Eric Adams confirmed he had directed the police to coordinate with Homeland Security.
