US demands UN action against Iran, Hezbollah
US Deputy Ambassador Robert Wood has urged the UN Security Council to back Israel’s right to self-defense against Hezbollah.
Wood stressed that the July 30 attack by Hezbollah, using Iranian weaponry, underscores the need for international accountability.
He called for holding Iran responsible for its support of Hezbollah and its breaches of international law.
He insisted that Iran must comply with Security Council resolutions or face further actions.
Wood also claimed that the US had no involvement in Israel’s response or in the death of Palestinian resistance leader Ismail Haniyeh, noting no independent confirmation of these claims.
