ANKARA, Türkiye (MNTV) – Turkish defense firm Nurol Teknoloji has secured a significant export deal with the United States, marking a milestone in the company’s efforts to strengthen its global presence. The export includes cutting-edge ballistic ceramics and armor products.
According to Anadolu Agency, Nurol Teknoloji opened its US office two and a half years ago to enhance market visibility and streamline its offerings.
The company showcased its defense solutions at the International Defense Exhibition and Conference (IDEX) 2025 in Abu Dhabi, further solidifying its position in the global defense market.
Serpil Gonenc Dincer, deputy general manager at Nurol Teknoloji, revealed that 12 US firms licensed the company’s products, including ceramic powder used in producing protective plates.
These firms are authorized to supply to the US military.
Nurol Teknoloji is one of the few global producers of boron carbide ceramic, a bulletproof compound commonly used by law enforcement and military forces.
The company has also expanded its capabilities by acquiring a majority stake in the German ceramic raw material producer Industriekeramik Hochrhein GmbH (IKH).
IKH specializes in developing advanced technical ceramic powders, essential for aviation, medical, electronics, chip manufacturing, and space exploration industries.
Nurol Teknoloji has pioneered innovative solutions in ceramic technology, including hybrid ceramics composed of 40% boron and 60% silicon.
The company’s direct sintering process, alongside its 100% boron carbide products, is unmatched globally.
Dincer emphasized that these developments will lead to lightweight, multi-shot, high-threat-resistant solutions expected to be available in the market within a year.
Nurol Teknoloji’s expansion into the US market and its focus on advanced ceramic technologies highlight Türkiye’s growing influence in the global defense sector, positioning it as a key player in the industry’s future.
