UK’s Labour Party Drops antisemitism Case Against Anti-Zionist Jew
The U.K.’s Labour Party has dropped its investigation into an 82-year-old Jewish woman accused of antisemitism after she threatened to sue.
Diana Neslen, a practicing Jew, was investigated by the party for the third time in just three years for her tweets about Israel and Zionism.
Neslen threatened to file a lawsuit against the party for unlawfully discriminating against her on the basis of her anti-Zionist beliefs, The Guardian reported.
Her lawyers told the party its investigation was unjustified and disproportionate as it rested on a single tweet from 2017.
In it, Neslen wrote “the existence of the state of Israel is a racist endeavor and I am an antiracist Jew.”
