Ukrainian President to Virtually Address US Congress
WASHINGTON – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will address members of the US Congress to inform them about the situation in the country following Russia’s attack.
According to a letter to members of the House and Senate from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, the virtual address will take place at 9 am Eastern Time (1300GMT).
“The Congress remains unwavering in our commitment to supporting Ukraine as they face (Russian President Vladimir) Putin’s cruel and diabolical aggression,” said Pelosi and Schumer’s letter.
“We look forward to the privilege of welcoming President Zelenskyy’s address to the House and Senate and to convey our support to the people of Ukraine as they bravely defend democracy,” said the letter.
