UAE president visits Qatar to improve bilateral relations
ANKARA (AA) – UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed paid an official visit to Qatar to strengthen bilateral relations between the two Gulf nations which have not been on very amicable terms.
According to the UAE state agency WAM, the visit followed an invitation from Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani. It is the first for bin Zayed since he became president.
It is also the first since the UAE along with Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Egypt ended a boycott of Doha in 2021.
