U.S. Sanctions 600 Russian Targets Since Start Of War In Ukraine
Over 400 Russian elites, including members of the government and defense companies, face sanctions from the U.S., the European Union and G7 countries.
So far, 600 Russian targets have been sanctioned by the U.S. due to Moscow’s war on Ukraine, according to a White House statement.
These economic sanctions on Russia are unprecedented.
In no other circumstance has the U.S. “moved so swiftly and in such a coordinated fashion to impose devastating costs on any other country,” the statement read.
The Russia-Ukraine war, which began Feb. 24, has displaced more than 10 million Ukrainians.
Roughly 3.7 million people are seeking refuge in neighboring countries, the UN refugee agency reports.
