U.S. President Joe Biden Announces Intent To Seek Re-election In 2024
U.S. President Joe Biden this week announced his intention to seek reelection in 2024.
Biden told MSNBC on Saturday he has not made a formal decision, but has time to do so.
He stressed that he hasn’t formally announced his candidacy yet because he has to treat himself “as a candidate from that moment on.”
Biden is near the middle of his four-year term.
If he declares he is running for president again, certain legal rules kick in.
Biden said First Lady Jill Biden supports his decision.
At 79, Biden is America’s oldest president.
Some Democrats say they hope a younger or less centrist candidate than Biden will emerge.
