U.S. Justice Department Urged To Probe Anti-Muslim Group’s Alleged Spying
More than 80 Muslim organizations, including civil and human rights groups, mosques and charities, have sent a letter to the U.S. Department of Justice.
They are calling for an investigation into whether an anti-Muslim group violated federal laws by spying on several Muslim organizations in the U.S.
Those organizations include the Council on American-Islamic Relations, Muslim Advocates, and the Islamic Society of North America.
The groups cited a “conspiracy to spy on American mosques and Muslim organizations.”
The Investigative Project on Terrorism is the anti-Muslim group identified by the Islamophobia Network, a project of the Center for American Progress.
