U.S., Europe Urge West Not To Drop Guard Against Russia
Leaders of the United States, Britain, France, Germany and Italy on Tuesday urged the West not to drop its guard against Russia.
Moscow signaled it would scale down fighting around the Ukranian capital Kyiv and another city.
“I had a meeting with the heads of state of four allies in NATO: France, Germany, the United States and Great Britain. And there seems to be a consensus that – let’s just see what they have to offer.”
The White House said the five leaders agreed to not let up on strong economic sanctions imposed on Moscow over its invasion of Ukraine.
They affirmed “their determination to continue raising costs on Russia for its brutal attacks in Ukraine, as well as to continue supplying Ukraine with security assistance to defend itself.”
