Turkmenistan develops technology for bitumen emulsion production
ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan (MNTV) — Scientists at the International Scientific and Technological Park of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan have developed a new technology for producing bitumen emulsion using local raw materials, Business Turkmenistan reported.
The development is part of efforts to reduce Turkmenistan’s dependence on imported materials.
The newly developed bitumen emulsion formula contains 40% bitumen, 48.8% water, 10% solvent, 0.6% hydrochloric acid, and 0.6% emulsifier.
It offers high efficiency in road construction, enhancing layer adhesion, filling cracks, repairing potholes, and improving asphalt concrete production.
Unlike traditional bitumen, which requires heating to high temperatures, bitumen emulsion can be applied cold, making it more convenient and environmentally friendly.
The development is expected to improve road surface quality across the country and reduce costs associated with imported materials.
