ISTANBUL, Türkiye (MNTV) – Türkiye’s captivating blend of natural beauty, historical significance, and cultural richness has cemented its position as a global tourism hub.
Over 20 years of Google Maps history, the country’s landmarks have consistently ranked among the most searched destinations worldwide, according to Daily Sabah.
With a curated list of 60 top locations, including 20 cultural heritage sites, 20 museums, and 20 parks, Türkiye highlights its unparalleled diversity.
The cities of Istanbul, Izmir, Ankara, and Antalya emerge as focal points, drawing international attention to the nation’s rich tapestry of attractions.
Leading the list of Türkiye’s most searched landmarks is Istanbul’s iconic Galata Tower, a historic symbol offering panoramic views of the city.
Close contenders include Ankara’s Anıtkabir, a monument to Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, and the enchanting Yerebatan Cistern in Istanbul.
Other notable landmarks such as Pamukkale in Denizli, the ancient city of Ephesus in Izmir, and the Manavgat Waterfall in Antalya showcase the country’s natural and historical treasures.
Among Türkiye’s parks, Istanbul’s Gülhane Park takes the top spot, followed by Emirgan Grove.
These urban green spaces, along with Ankara’s Güvenpark and Antalya’s Saklıkent, illustrate the country’s dedication to preserving its natural environment for both residents and visitors.
Museums and timeless history

Recep Yavuz, chairperson of the Antalya City Council Tourism Working Group, emphasized the significance of the Google Maps data.
“These rankings demonstrate Türkiye’s enduring global appeal and the world’s fascination with our cultural and natural treasures. Protecting these values is our shared responsibility,” Yavuz stated.
As Google Maps celebrates two decades of guiding users, Türkiye’s landmarks stand out as a testament to the nation’s enduring legacy.
