Türkiye kills 3 more PKK members in northern Iraq
ANKARA (AA) – Turkish forces claim to have “neutralized” three more PKK fighters in the northern Iraq, the National Defense Ministry said on Friday.
Two militants were targeted in Metina area and one more in the Operation Claw-Lock zone, the ministry said on Twitter.
Turkish authorities use the term “neutralize” to imply the targeted individuals in question surrendered or were killed or captured.
Türkiye launched Operation Claw-Lock in April to target the PKK’s presence in Iraq’s northern Metina, Zap, and Avasin-Basyan regions, near the Turkish border.
It was preceded by Operations Claw-Tiger and Claw-Eagle, which were launched in 2020 to root out PKK presence in northern Iraq.
