Turkish, Israeli foreign ministers speak over phone
ANKARA (AA) – Turkey’s Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu on Thursday spoke with his Israeli counterpart Yair Lapid over phone, according to information obtained from the Turkish Foreign Ministry.
No detail was given on the content of the call.
On Tuesday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that he was engaging in talks with his Israeli counterpart, adding that President Isaac Herzog could pay a visit to Turkey.
It has been reported in recent weeks that Erdogan wants to mend ties with Israel, which have been strained for about four years. The two countries expelled each others’ diplomats in 2018.
