Turkey, Pakistan, Malaysia Praised For Challenging Islamophobia
Speakers at an international conference in Istanbul commended Turkey, Pakistan and Malaysia for their efforts combating the scourge of Islamophobia and anti-Muslim hate crimes.
Turkey’s Deputy Justice Minister Yakup Mogul spoke to delegates gathered Wednesday to discuss human rights violations faced by Muslims worldwide.
He said Muslim nations need to support people who are facing discrimination globally.
Mogul also called for “effective” U.N. and OIC systems to tackle Islamophobia in Europe.
The two-day event is jointly hosted by Turkey’s justice and foreign ministries and OIC’s Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission.
