Tunisia Human Rights Groups Slams Military Trials OF Civilians
On Monday, the Tunisian Human Rights League condemned military trials being held for civilians.
Anadolu news agency reports that the group called for the acceleration of revising relevant laws, including the Terrorism Law.
That legislation has resulted in journalists being prosecuted with impunity, as well as restrictions on human rights activists and the activities of civil associations.
The league called on the country’s supreme authority to involve national forces in forming public policies and include it in future dialogue.
Tunisia has been in political crisis since July 25, 2021.
That was when President Kais Saied froze the parliament, issued legislation by presidential decree, and dismissed the cabinet and appointed a new one.
