Trump’s Bible controversy: printed in China despite his rhetoric
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is facing backlash after it was revealed that nearly 120,000 copies of his “God Bless the USA” Bible were printed in China.
He has for a long time accused China of job theft and unfair trade practices in the US.
According to trade records, shipments worth $342,000 arrived in the United States just as Trump was promoting the Bible, which combines religious texts with US founding documents.
Priced at $59.99 each, the potential sales could exceed $7 million.
The Bibles, sold through a website claiming no political affiliation, may find a lucrative market in Oklahoma, where public schools plan to incorporate scripture into lessons.
