Trump trial defense rests case, without ex-president testifying

Donald Trump’s defense lawyers rested their case in his criminal trial Tuesday without the former president testifying, with the judge foreseeing jury deliberations beginning next week.
“Next Tuesday… you will hear the summations of the attorneys, you will probably the next day… hear my jury charge and I will expect you will begin your deliberations hopefully at some point on Wednesday,” judge Juan Merchan told the New York jury.
Trump is facing charges of falsifying documents during his 2016 presidential election campaign.
