Trump to sign 100 executive orders on 1st day in office: report
On his first day in the White House, President-elect Donald Trump is preparing to sign more than 100 executive orders.
These orders will cover border security, deportations, and other key political priorities, American news website Axios reports.
Trump and his top advisors outlined these plans during a meeting with Senate Republicans Wednesday night.
Two sources told Axios senators were shown previews of some of the 100 executive orders Trump intends to issue.
Trump’s immigration advisor Stephen Miller has outlined border security and immigration measures expected to be implemented on day 1.
Reinstating Title 42 is also said to be a key part of the border plan.
U.S. public health law Title 42 was invoked by Trump during the COVID-19 pandemic during his first term to expel migrants at the U.S.-Mexico border without allowing them to seek asylum.
Trump will be sworn in as the 47th U.S. president on Jan. 20, at the U.S. Capitol, to his second term in office.
