Trump pledges to broker peace in Ukraine
WASHINGTON (AA) – Former US President Donald Trump on Friday said he would work with Russia and Ukraine to end the war.
Speaking to reporters, Trump, who is the Republican presidential nominee, said he would end the war with an agreement, which he said is “good for both sides,” NBC News reported.
“We’re going to work very much with both parties to try and get this settled and get it worked out,” Trump said. “It has to end. At some point, it has to end,” said Trump.
NBC News also reported that Trump praised the “good relationship” with Ukrainian President Volodymr Zelenskyy and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Both Trump and his running mate, Senator JD Vance of Ohio, have been vocal critics of US aid to Ukraine.
