Death toll in Khan Younis attack rises to 31; babies dying at al-Shifa Hospital
The death toll in Sunday’s Israeli attack on a home in Khan Younis, in southern Gaza, rose to 31 on Monday, according to media reports.
Meanwhile, Gaza’s health ministry reported that six premature babies and nine patients had died since electrical shortages began affecting al-Shifa Hospital.
Gaza’s two largest hospitals, al-Shifa and al-Quds, have both closed. Israeli forces continue to fire at anyone near al-Shifa Hospital, trapping thousands inside.
The director-general of the Ministry of Health says Israeli tanks are surrounding al-Shifa Hospital and about 200 families in the vicinity of the hospital cannot move from their homes. Some 100 bodies are decomposing in the courtyard of the hospital, the DG says.
