Three Former Minneapolis Police Officers Found Guilty Of Failing To Render Aid As George Floyd Suffocated To Death
Three former Minneapolis police officers were found guilty of failing to render aid as they watched George Floyd get suffocated by former Minneapolis cop Derek Chauvin.
Alexander Kueng, Tou Thao, and Thomas Lane were convicted on charges of not assisting Floyd as he died, and of violating his constitutional rights.
Floyd’s murder in 2020 sparked nationwide outrage after video showed Chauvin kneeling on the back of Floyd’s neck for 9 ½ minutes until he eventually died.
The other three officers involved were not charged with murder.
Kueng, Thao, and Lane also face trial in Hennepin County District Court in June, on charges they aided and abetted Chauvin.
