Texas Bus Drops Off Migrants Outside Fox News HQ In DC
On Wednesday, human rights advocates condemned Republican Texas Gov. Greg Abbott for sending a bus of migrants from the U.S.-Mexico border to the nation’s capital.
The bus arrived outside an office building housing Fox News, which provided glowing coverage of the bus’ arrival.
Aaron Reichlin-Melnick, senior policy counsel at the American Immigration Council, called it “an incredibly dehumanizing and cynical stunt.”
Reichlin-Melnick said the event was clearly coordinated closely with Fox News.
Last week, Abbott vowed to transport migrants to Washington, D.C.
His goal was to show opposition to President Joe Biden’s phase-out of Title 42.
The order was used by the Trump and Biden administrations to expel asylum-seekers from the U.S. more than 1.7 million times in two years.
