Syrians In Idlib Camp Spend Ramadan In Extreme Poverty
Thousands of displaced Syrians living in tents in the country’s northwest province of Idlib are suffering from extreme poverty.
Many displaced Syrians are sheltering in the Kafar Houm Camp and struggling to survive during Ramadan.
Abu Omar, who is unemployed, said his family cannot afford to buy basic living and food supplies, such as oil and potatoes.
They live on grass collected from the mountains instead.
Idlib falls within a de-escalation zone per an agreement between Turkey and Russia in March 2020.
However, the Bashar al-Assad regime has consistently violated the terms, launching frequent attacks inside the zone.
