Swedish Government Says Accusation Of Muslim Child Kidnappings Is “Disinformation”
Sweden is seeking to discredit Muslim parents’ claims on social media that Swedish social service agencies kidnap Muslim children.
The government said Friday the allegations are false, as well as “seriously misleading and aim to create tensions and spread mistrust.”
The Swedish Foreign Ministry said “all children in Sweden are protected and cared for equally” under Swedish law and the U.N. Convention on the Rights of the Child.
The Foreign Ministry stressed that social workers need a court order to remove children from parents without consent.
The ministry’s said “all this is done under the care and supervision of trained professionals.”
