Dearborn, Michigan police fatally shot a man Saturday after he allegedly started a fire at a mosque and shot at law enforcement officers.
The incident stemmed from a shooting in Detroit, the police chief told The Detroit News.
At 1:18 a.m., Dearborn officers on patrol observed a fire at the Al-Huda Islamic Association on the city’s northeast side.
There they encountered an armed man who appeared to have shot at the officers, the department said.
