Students call for protecting Hindu temples through mosques in Bangladesh
In what observers are calling a hopeful move, Bangladesh’s “Students Against Discrimination” movement has taken to using mosque loudspeakers to promote communal harmony amid the country’s current unrest.
In a special announcement broadcast from mosques across the nation the group urged citizens to stand united in protecting Hindu communities and their temples.
The students’ announcement emphasized the importance of safeguarding minority groups during Bangladesh’s political volatility.
Due to Indian support for former prime minister Shaikh Hasina who has fled to India, there have been attacks on Indian institutions, including some Hindu temples.
