Standing Ovation For Zelensky Before His UK Parliament Speech
British MPs on Tuesday gave a standing ovation for Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky before he gave a historic virtual address to the House of Commons.
Speaking via video, the embattled president spoke to MPs as part of his diplomatic push for more Western action against Russia for its invasion of Ukraine.
Zelensky said Ukrainians “will fight in the forests, on the shores, in the streets,” echoing a line from a stirring speech by British Prime Minister Winston Churchill during World War II.
In a video address to 280 members of the U.S. Congress Saturday, Zelenskiy made a plea for the implementation of a no-fly zone.
The U.S. and NATO have ruled out this option.
