Singapore aims for 1.1 million visitors at Ramadan festival
Organizers expect 30% of visitors to come from abroad, especially Indonesia, to enjoy cultural offerings and cuisine
SINGAPORE (MNTV) — The Gemilang Kampong Gelam Ramadan festival and bazaar in Singapore, running until March 25, is targeting 1.1 million visitors this year.
“Our target for 2024 was 700,000, but we exceeded expectations with over 1.1 million visitors.
Our hope is to maintain that number this year,” said Zaki Ma’arof, Chairman of One Kampong Gelam.
Zaki mentioned that of the estimated 1.1 million visitors, around 30% are expected to be foreign tourists, particularly from Indonesia.
“Many people visit during Ramadan to enjoy the food and drinks at this bazaar,” he added.
To meet the target, the festival organizers have brought in 120 food and beverage tenants, offering a mix of traditional and trending options.
Zaki also noted that three to four months before the event, opportunities were provided for food and beverage vendors to rent stalls.
In addition to the food stalls, there are also clothing vendor stands, located around the Sultan Mosque, covering streets such as Muscat, Kandahar, and Baghdad.
The festival’s diverse offerings and international appeal highlight Singapore’s vibrant cultural scene and commitment to celebrating Ramadan.
