Shanahan warns senators: Vote against Kennedy
Robert Kennedy Jr.’s former running mate has issued a strong warning to senators ahead of his nomination vote for head of the Health and Human Services agency.
Nicole Shanahan has threatened to fund challengers against senators who oppose Kennedy.
She said “Bobby may play nice, but I won’t.”
She specifically named lawmakers from both parties, including Mitch McConnell, Lindsey Graham, Bernie Sanders, and Cory Booker.
A tech attorney, Shanahan said she donated heavily to Democrats in 2020 and will closely watch how Sens. Warnock and Ossoff vote.
Kennedy, an environmental lawyer with controversial views on vaccines, was nominated by President Donald Trump despite bipartisan criticism.
Kennedy’s confirmation hearings are set for Wednesday and Thursday.
