Senator Sanders to boycott Netanyahu’s Congressional speech
Senator Bernie Sanders has announced he will not attend Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s upcoming speech to Congress.
Speaking on the Senate floor, Sanders expressed his dismay at bipartisan leaders, including House Speaker Mike Johnson and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, for inviting Netanyahu.
No date has been set for the address.
Sanders criticized the Netanyahu government for blocking humanitarian aid, calling it a war crime.
According to the UN, at least 30 Palestinian children have died from starvation since January, with more than 93,000 screened for malnutrition.
Sanders emphasized the dire situation in Gaza, worsened by Israel’s offensive, despite UN calls for a cease-fire.
