Senate leader rejects Israeli premier’s request to address Democratic caucus
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer has declined Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s request to speak to Democratic senators.
Schumer emphasized the importance of keeping issues related to Israel bipartisan, stating it would benefit the country.
He reaffirmed his commitment to Israel’s future while addressing his recent remarks calling for new elections in Israel and criticizing Netanyahu.
Schumer clarified that his speech stemmed from genuine concern for Israel’s well-being.
Netanyahu had criticized Schumer’s comments as “totally inappropriate” and affirmed his resolve to continue Israel’s war on Gaza despite international pressure for a cease-fire.
