QATIF, Saudi Arabia (MNTV) – Aziz Alghanim, a passionate entrepreneur from Saihat on Saudi Arabia’s east coast, has turned her dream of sustainable agriculture into reality with her farm, Khairat Laziza.
Since its inception in 2001, the farm has become a beacon of sustainability, producing natural, chemical-free products while supporting philanthropic causes.
In a feature by Arab News, Alghanim’s journey was highlighted as a testament to dedication and innovation.
Over the past two and a half decades, she has cultivated a lush expanse of aromatic citrus fruits, vibrant buckthorn trees, and tended a small herd of goats.
However, it was in 2014 that her journey took a transformative turn when she ventured into artisanal cheese-making, which quickly gained local acclaim.
“The journey of cheese-making began in 2014 when I established the Khairat Laziza Foundation, a non-profit organization where all revenue is dedicated to supporting charitable causes,” Alghanim told Arab News.
The enthusiastic response to her handcrafted cheeses encouraged her to scale operations, leading to the establishment of her first factory in 2016.
Three years later, a second factory was added, and today, Khairat Laziza boasts a remarkable range of 118 natural products. These include cheeses, labneh, milk, gelatos, jams, sauces, pickles, biscuits, pizzas, and even dairy-free alternatives.
Among her cheese varieties, “zalloum” stands out as a unique creation, blending the flavors of halloumi with the creamy texture of mozzarella. The name itself is derived from this inventive combination.
Her meticulous cheese-making technique, celebrated for its quality and taste, has inspired her to launch workshops for both beginners and experts.
These workshops offer an immersive experience into the art of cheese-making, empowering participants with valuable skills.
What sets Khairat Laziza apart is its direct-to-consumer approach, eliminating third-party vendors to ensure product quality and authenticity.
Furthermore, the farm has been actively engaged in philanthropic collaborations, working with organizations like Al Ataa Charitable Society to participate in festivals and support community causes.
Beyond cheese, Khairat Laziza’s offerings include flavorful gelatos, pre-made cheese platters, dried produce, and other innovative items, all proudly free of harmful preservatives. Alghanim’s emphasis on sustainability and community support has earned her widespread recognition as a pioneer in her field.
With her vision, Alghanim has not only cultivated a thriving farm but also fostered a spirit of giving and learning in Saihat, making Khairat Laziza a cherished brand in Saudi Arabia’s sustainable agriculture landscape.
