Saudi Arabia says to boost relations with both US, China
RIYADH, Saudi Arabia (AA) – Saudi Arabia has said it will continue to bolster its partnerships with both the United States and China.
“We build bridges with people; we don’t see one as exclusive of the other,” Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Adel al-Jubeir, said in an interview with CNBC network on Saturday.
“China is our largest trading partner. It’s a huge market for energy and a huge market in the future. And China is a big investor in Saudi Arabia,” he added.
“The United States is of course our number one partner when it comes to security and political coordination, as well as investments and trade between the two countries,” al-Jubeir said.
US-Saudi relations had remained tense since Biden came to office last year, but in recent months, the US president sought to enhance his country’s ties with Saudi Arabia amid the Russian war in Ukraine.
