Saudi Arabia brings contemporary art home with ‘Art of the Kingdom’
Riyadh to host landmark exhibition showcasing the Kingdom’s modern artistic vision following acclaimed global debut
RIYADH, Saudi Arabia (MNTV) – Saudi Arabia has announced the highly anticipated opening of the second edition of Art of the Kingdom, a premier exhibition celebrating contemporary Saudi art, following its internationally lauded debut in Brazil.
Set to open on February 24, 2025, at the Saudi Museum of Contemporary Art in JAX, Riyadh, the exhibition will feature works from 17 leading Saudi artists, offering a striking visual narrative of the Kingdom’s cultural evolution.
The display includes paintings, installations, sculptures, and video art, providing a modern lens on Saudi Arabia’s rich heritage and collective memory.
This marks Saudi Arabia’s first traveling contemporary art exhibition, which originally launched at the Imperial Palace in Rio de Janeiro during the G20 Summit.
The show attracted 26,000 visitors over two months, gaining widespread acclaim for its artistic innovation and cultural significance.
The Riyadh edition will introduce exclusive new works that were not part of the initial exhibition, with specially commissioned pieces designed specifically for the JAX museum.
Featured artists include Muhannad Shono, Lina Qazzaz, Manal Al Dowayan, Nasser Al Salem, Basma Felmban, and Fatima Abdulhadi, among others.
Running from February 24 to April 24, 2025, Art of the Kingdom offers art enthusiasts a unique chance to experience the Kingdom’s evolving creative landscape. Ticket details will soon be available on the WeBook platform.
Following its Riyadh showcase, the exhibition will travel to Beijing’s National Museum of China, celebrating 25 years of diplomatic relations between Saudi Arabia and China.
