Russia Warns Finland And Sweden Against Joining NATO, While EU Bans All Russian Planes
Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova threatened “military and political consequences” against Finland and Sweden if they attempted to become NATO members.
Finland has a 830-mile land border with Russia, which is the longest border shared by any EU member state and Russia.
On Sunday, Sweden announced it would break its doctrine of not sending arms to countries in active conflict and send military equipment, including anti-tank launchers, to Ukraine.
The European Uniion also decided to send over $500 million in weapons to Ukraine including fighter jets.
The EU has now banned all Russian planes which will no longer be able to land in, take off from, or fly over any European Union nation.
