Russia Threatens To Deploy Nuclear Weapon, Target Nato
On Wednesday, Russia’s foreign minister Sergey Ryabkov threatened to deploy nuclear weapons in and around the Baltic Sea region if Finland and Sweden join NATO.
But Bloomberg reports that Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov declined to comment on that possibility.
Foreign Minister Ryabkov also said U.S. and NATO arms shipments in Ukraine will be seen as rightful targets by the Russian military.
He promised to thwart Western military aid to Ukraine that aims to slow down Russia’s military operation.
He also told Russia’s state-run TASS news agency U.S. sanctions against Russia will hurt its own companies.
According to Ryabkov, sanctions stimulate the revival of the Russian industry and provide favorable conditions for further agricultural growth.
