Russia says high-precision weapons used to hit Lviv fuel depot
MOSCOW (AA) – Russia used high-precision weapons to hit a fuel depot near Lviv, Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said at a briefing in Moscow.
It destroyed an airfield and a repair plant in Lviv and a missile depot near the capital Kyiv over the past day.
“In total, since the beginning of the special military operation, 289 unmanned aerial vehicles, 1,656 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 169 multiple rocket launchers, 684 field artillery and mortar guns, as well as 1,503 units of special military vehicles have been destroyed,” Konashenkov said.
The Russia-Ukraine war, which started on Feb.24, has met international outrage with the EU, US and UK, among others, implementing tough financial sanctions on Moscow.
At least 1,119 civilians have been killed in Ukraine and 1,790 injured, according to UN estimates, with the true figure feared to be far higher.
More than 3.8 million Ukrainians have also fled to neighboring countries, with millions more displaced inside the country, according to the UN refugee agency.
