Russia hits 81 more Ukrainian military targets overnight: Defense Ministry
MOSCOW (AA) – Russia said Friday that its forces had hit 81 more Ukrainian military infrastructure targets overnight.
Three shipments of foreign military equipment were destroyed with high-precision weaponry at railway stations in Pokrovsk, Slavyansk, and Barvenkovo, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov told a press briefing in Moscow.
He also said that a training center for foreign mercenaries was destroyed near the port city of Odessa with missiles fired from its sea-based Bastion system.
The air defense systems shot down Mi-8 and Mi-24 helicopters and five unmanned aerial vehicles, Konashenkov said.
The aviation hit 81 military objects, including two control points, an Osa air defense system launcher, three multiple launch rocket systems installations, nine strongholds, and 59 areas of concentration of military equipment, he added.
Since the start of the war, he said, 97 helicopters have been destroyed, along with 421 unmanned aerial vehicles, 228 long- and medium-range air defense systems, 2,019 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 223 multiple rocket launchers, 874 field artillery and mortar guns, as well as 1,917 units of special military vehicles.
