Russia Halal Expo 2023 welcomes visitors on the sidelines of the 14th Kazan Forum
KAZAN, Tatarstan – Russia is hosting a Halal Expo on the sidelines of the 14th International Economic Summit, which has begun in Kazan, the capital of the Russian Republic of Tatarstan.
The summit opened Thursday to strengthen social and cultural ties between Russia and the Muslim world.
Halal products and services will be presented at the exhibition, which is expected to attract 7,000 visitors.
The aim of the Expo is to promote the halal industry in Russia and improve commercial, economic, and social relations between Russia and participating Muslim countries.
In his opening speech, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin said that trust and cooperation have become the key factor in developing relations between Russia and Muslim countries.
“Our slogan is trust and cooperation that has become the pivotal factor in the development of relations between Russia and Muslim countries not only in the economic sphere but also in the diversity of all cooperation projects that truly manifest our strategic partnership,” he said.
Khusnullin, who is also chairman of the International Economic Forum’s organizing committee, said the high number of participants “confirms that Russia and Islamic countries are bound by strong bonds of friendship and mutual respect”
He said trade between Russia and member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has grown by nearly 30% over the past three years.
Rustam Minnikhanov, the head of the Republic of Tatarstan, praised the diversity and high number of participants at the event.
