RSS chief blames external forces for Bangladesh’s political turmoil
The chief of India’s ultra-Hindu nationalist Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) is blaming external forces for toppling the Sheikh Hasina government in Bangladesh.
Mohan Bhagwat has expressed alarm over threats to Hindus in Bangladesh.
Speaking at the RSS headquarters in Nagpur, Bhagwat claimed the regime change was orchestrated for selfish purposes.
The government of Prime Minister Shaikh Hasina’s was ousted in August.
Bhagwat criticized the narrative that portrays India as a foe and Pakistan as a friend, despite India’s pivotal role in Bangladesh’s independence from Pakistan in 1971.
He warned that nations on the rise, like Bangladesh, often face destabilization attempts, fueled by ideologies which attack cultural identities.
He called for global Hindu unity to counter these threats and restore cultural pride.
RSS is considered the patron organization of all Hindu nationalist forces including India’s ruling Bharatiya Janata Party.
