‘Resistance, Gaza, Palestine’ film festival planned in Malaysia
KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (MNTV) — The “Resistance, Gaza, Palestine” youth film festival will be organized in Malaysia, International Quran News Agency reports.
The Iranian Cultural Center in Malaysia, the Al-Quds Foundation, the Municipality of Kuala Lumpur, and three major universities of Malaysia will cooperate in holding the festival.
It provides an opportunity for young Malaysian filmmakers under 30, as well as students in filmmaking, communications, and art, to create short films (up to 15 minutes) or documentary reports (up to 30 minutes) that depict the human stories of the struggles and resilience of the Palestinian people.
The submitted works will focus on the lives and endurance of the Palestinian nation in the face of the Israeli regime’s occupation.
The submitted pieces will be judged by a panel of distinguished Iranian and Malaysian experts and filmmakers. Winners will receive cash prizes (for the top three in each category) and will participate in advanced filmmaking workshops led by expert instructors.
The deadline for submitting works has been set for September 1, 2025. The closing ceremony and announcement of the festival results will take place on October 7, 2025, coinciding with the anniversary of the Gaza war.
Additionally, a mural painting event titled “Resistance and Genocide in Gaza and Palestine” will be held on the International Quds Day in one of the bustling and tourist-friendly areas of Kuala Lumpur.
