Rashida Tlaib advocates regognizing April as Arab-American heritage month
Lawmaker Rashida Tlaib, alongside Rep. Debbie Dingell, has reintroduced a resolution pushing for April to be designated as “Arab American Heritage Month” at the federal level.
Tlaib emphasized the importance of recognizing the contributions of Arab Americans and ensuring their visibility in federal recognition.
She highlighted their diverse roles as professionals and community members, saying they enrich Michigan’s identity and the nation as a whole.
The effort has garnered support from several Democratic representatives.
President Joe Biden has previously recognized April as Arab American History Month.
