Portion Of World’s Largest Quran Featured At Dubai Expo
A portion of the world’s largest Quran was unveiled Tuesday at Dubai’s Expo 2020 in the United Arab Emirates.
The artwork was created by renowned Pakistani artist Shahid Rassam.
Cast on canvas with aluminum and gold-plated script, surah Al-Rahman the 55th chapter of the Quran, is on display at the Expo’s Pakistan Pavilion.
Rassam and more than 200 associates have been working since 2017 to prepare the world’s largest copy of the Quran. The project is scheduled to be completed in 2026.
Expo 2020 is a World Expo, currently being hosted by Dubai from 1 October 2021 to March 31 this year.
It was originally scheduled to begin in October 2020, but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
