Poll reveals swing state voters support strong stance on Israel
A new YouGov/IMEU Policy Project poll shows that a strong stance on Israel could boost Democratic support in key swing states.
More than a third of voters in Pennsylvania, Arizona, and Georgia say they would be more likely to back a Democratic nominee who supports an arms embargo on Israel and a permanent cease-fire in Gaza.
Specifically, 34 percent in Pennsylvania, 35 percent in Arizona, and 39 percent in Georgia prefer a candidate who pledges to withhold weapons from Israel.
The poll also indicates that such positions could sway undecided voters who backed Biden in 2020.
Currently, Harris leads Trump narrowly in Pennsylvania by 2.1 percent, Arizona by 0.7 percent, and Georgia by 0.1 percent.
That’s according to the data-driven news site FiveThirtyEight’s polling averages as of August 14.
A strong stance against Israel and seeking an arms embargo could be a decisive factor.
IMEU Policy Project’s Margaret DeReus emphasizes these policies could shift undecided voters into the Democratic column for November’s election.
