Police arrest man in high-profile insurance CEO murder
Police in Pennsylvania have arrested Luigi Mangione, the suspect in the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.
Mangione was identified and detained in the city of Altoona, nearly 300 miles from the Manhattan crime scene, after a McDonald’s employee alerted authorities.
He was found in possession of a 3D-printed “ghost gun” and multiple fake IDs.
Mangione is believed to have acted alone, according to police.
The 26-year-old has expressed vehement criticism of the healthcare industry online.
He is being investigated for motives linked to what are being described as his radical views.
UnitedHealthcare has expressed hope that Mangione’s arrest will bring some relief to those mourning the loss of Thompson.
